Construction of roads, intersections and parking lot projects worth Dh115 million is underway in the Capital, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality has announced.

The civic body, which is affiliated to the department of municipalities and transport, said that 85 per cent of the construction work for the infrastructural projects has been completed.

The projects on Abu Dhabi Island, slated to be fully completed by the end of 2020, aim to meet the requirements of residents of those areas where they are being implemented.

The projects include the construction of parking lots, new service roads, improvement and modification of existing roads and parking spaces, intersections, as well as the implementation of surface drainage works for rain water, street lighting works, in addition to the work of relaying services and improving and developing traffic lights.

The development of modern infrastructure is in accordance with the highest international standards that contribute to enhancing the cultural landscape enjoyed by Abu Dhabi.

The construction projects are a part of the efforts to deliver strategic projects contributing to achievement of the objectives of Abu Dhabi Plan.
