BAHRAIN and Russia are negotiating on an agreement to allow citizens of both countries to travel between the two countries without the need for a tourist visa.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgeny Ivanov told the Russian news agency, Tass, yesterday that visa-free deals were being discussed with 11 countries, including four GCC countries – Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Kuwait.

“We’re preparing draft intergovernmental agreements on visa-free travel for Russian citizens with a number of countries, such as Bahrain, Oman and Saudi Arabia,” he said. “The agreements are at various stages of development.”
