AMMAN — The recent rainfall has bumped the Kingdom’s rainfall totals to 105 per cent of the annual average, compared with 78.5 per cent during the same period of last season, the Water Ministry announced on Tuesday.

Total storage volume in Jordan’s dams reached 120 million cubic metres (mcm), or 42.77 per cent of their total storage capacity of 280.7mcm, according to a ministry statement. Around 0.5mcm of rainwater filled dams over the past 24 hours, the ministry revealed.

At the governorate level, Maan received the highest quantity of precipitation with 17.3 millimeters (mm), followed by Tafileh with 11.5mm, Amman and Madaba with 8.1mm, Aqaba with 5.6mm, Balqa 5mm, Ajloun 4.7mm, Karak 4.4mm, Jerash 3.9mm, Mafraq 3mm, Zarqa 2.8mm and Irbid with 1mm.
