Housing and Urban Planning Minister, Amna Al Romaihi has said that the kingdom’s experience in expanding the partnership with the private sector to provide housing services to the citizens has proved its success.She said that based on the royal directives, the government will launch more initiatives in partnership with the private sector to increase investment opportunities and ensure adequate housing for the citizens.

While leading the kingdom’s delegation to the 39th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction, hosted by Egypt, she asserted that over the past years, the kingdom has managed to provide thousands of housing units to the citizens in partnership with the private sector, which has encouraged the government to launch the new housing financing programme and the Government Land Development Rights Programme, which will serve many social groups over the coming years.

She indicated that the management of the social housing sector in the world needs innovative and sustainable solutions, in light of the growing population, which is reflected in the volume of demand for housing services, stressing that the private sector has the required capabilities and resources that enable it to play a major role in providing housing financing through banks and commercial banks, or providing housing projects.In this regard, she hailed the experiences of the GCC and Arab countries that have adopted a similar approach in providing housing services to their citizens.

Ms Al Romaihi praised the Arab Ministerial Council’s endorsement of a proposal to exchange experiences among member states, which will contribute to strengthening and enriching housing plans with successful ideas and initiatives.She also invited the member states to take part in the training course that the kingdom will host on December 26-27.During the training course, representatives of countries will be trained on the mechanism of listing data on the website of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction.
