India will shortly sign agreements with Morocco and Egypt to secure a long-term supply of rock phosphate, which is needed for producing diammonium phosphate (DAP) and nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium (NPK), Indian financial daily Mint reported.

India's Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers Mansukh Mandaviya will visit the North African nations to seal the deals, the report stated..

Indian companies are expected to set up plants for DAP and NPK production in the two countries to facilitate imports by India, it added.
