Bahrain’s Bilaj Al Jazayer Real Estate Development is expected to award the landscape design consultancy contract for its Bilaj Al Jazayer mixed-use project in the second quarter of 2023.

“The tender for the landscape design contract was issued on 27 February 2023 and the bid submission was due on 22 March 2023. The consultancy contract is expected to be awarded by May 2023,” the source told Zawya Projects.

The commercial bidders list includes Al Amin Gardens ($287,170), Consolidated Engineering Company Khatib & Alami (Foreign Branch Company) ($512,660), KEO International Consultants ($365,479), and Gulf House Engineering Co. ($181,740), according to officials from four companies.

The scope of work involves the landscape design of the 1.3 million square metre mixed-use sustainability-focussed project that includes two hotels, three residential buildings, a beach club and associated facilities.

Mohammed Salahuddin Consulting Engineering Bureau (MSCEB) is the lead consultant for the design and supervision of the hotels and Beach Club project.

The project is slated for completion by the third quarter of 2024, a second source told Zawya Projects.

The project is being developed by Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah), the real estate arm of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat).

Bilaj Al Jazayer’s beach area was reopened to the public in November 2021 as part of the project’s 5-million Bahraini dinar ($13 million) first phase.
