Hurghada- The Arab Center For Media Tourism concluded its 2012 forum on the relation between security and Tourism in Egypt from SUNRISE Mamlouk Palace Resort Hurghada, with the participation of 17 Arab Countries, and the presence of Mr.André Mühlemann CEO of SUNRISE Resorts & Cruises, Dr. Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour, Egyptian Minister of Tourism, and Qatari Sheikh; Faisal Bin Kassim El Thani.

The fourth forum for The Arab Center For Media Tourism which was held under the slogan " we meet to rise up" was an initiative to support tourism in Egypt through reassuring both Foreign and Arab media of the security situation in Egypt in general, and Hurghada; as a major tourist destination in particular.

The conference which was held at the "Salamlik" conference room at SUNRISE Mamlouk Palace Resort was attended by an estimated 65 press representatives from 48 agencies representing 17 Arab countries, particularly the Persian Gulf; Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Yemen, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, and Mauritania. Egyptian Minister of Tourism; Dr. Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour was present at the conference as well as Major-General Assem Mahmoud Red Sea, alongside Qatari businessman; Sheikh Faisal Bin Kassim El Thanni.

After the conference, the forum awarded a few Arab Figures and Media journalists for their coverage on tourism related events in the Arab world. Sheikh Faisal Bin Kassim El Thani was awarded Ambassador of Arab tourism for 2012, for his continuous contribution to promoting Arab Heritage.

Three workshops were conducted after the award ceremony on, teaching of introductory courses on tourism in the Arab world, increasing touristic awareness among Arab countries on how to treat foreign tourists, and activating the Center's branches in more Arab countries.
