Doha, Qatar - The Sheraton Doha Resort & Convention Hotel held yesterday the opening of Qatar's newest and first Irish Restaurant and Pub, The Irish Harp.
The opening ceremony was honored by the presence of more than 100 guests, high caliber corporate executives and media representatives along with the team members of the hotel owning company, Qatar National Hotels (QNH).
Mr. Jan Paul De Boer, acting Chairman of the Board, Qatar National Hotels Company and Mr. Gerhard Foltin, General Manager of the Sheraton Doha cut the ribbon, celebrating the launch of a new distinguished opening.
The Irish Harp designed and built by the McNally Design Group, by far the largest supplier of Irish restaurants in the world was in charge of the manufacture and installation of Doha's first Irish outlet.
The lavish authentic interiors were prepared in Ireland and shipped to Qatar with local artists helping put the finishing touches.
The restaurant has a capacity of 150 persons with attractive dark woodwork and a truly unique 20 m long masterpiece with a preserving semblance of the antique charm and the refined 21st century Victorian looks.
Kern Conway was appointed Irish Harp Manager. He will be responsible of creating and overseeing the restaurant and pub's operations .Mr. Conway has an extensive experience in food and beverage and front office management from 5-star hotels and restaurants.
The Irish harp will be serving traditional Irish and international Cuisine and drinks
Also many sporting events will be shown live including the English premiership and Football internationals.
Don't miss three nights of exclusive performances of Declan O'Sullivan, Irish musician, guitar player and singer who will be performing for the first time in Qatar December 15, 16 and 17 taking out the guitar for his tunes being specialized in popular Irish pub songs.
Sheraton General Manager Gerhard Foltin commented on the new opening:
