Amman: Stemming from its commitment to community services and CSR initiatives, Ramada Resort by Wyndham Dead Sea recently organized a blood drive, held in collaboration with the Jordan Blood Bank.

The initiative aims at encouraging employees to take part and participate in local initiatives that serve the community, as well as educating them on the benefits of blood donations, which include saving the lives of those who are in need of blood, in addition to the health benefit of blood donation for the donors themselves.

The blood drive was very well received by the hotel employees, with the majority of staff participating in the drive. They also expressed their gratitude for the organization of this event, which solidifies the notion of team work in the property. In addition, they were very happy to learn that their donations will contribute to maintaining the sufficient amounts of blood needed for patients in hospitals around Jordan.

“We are delighted to know that our commitment towards the community is also instilled within our staff, and to see that so many of the employees have taken part in this important CSR initiative is encouraging, and have thankfully had a great impact on the local community.” Commented Beat Peter, Ramada Resort by Wyndham Dead Sea General Manager. “Our focus on health and education remain at the top of our CSR programs. This blood drive is only one of many initiatives we have planned for the health sector in the near future, which includes more initiatives with the Jordan Blood Bank and other organizations in the Kingdom,” he continued.

It is worth noting that the Jordan Blood Bank is working on a strategy that will improve blood transfusions and is creating more campaigns to encourage citizens to donate blood. A 5% increase is projected in the number of annual donors as a result of to these campaigns, which will also highlight the importance of the appropriate use of blood and its components in private and public hospitals.
