Company also makes significant additions to its powder coating line to increase productivity and reduce downtime

Emirates Extrusions Factory, a subsidiary of M'sharie, the private equity arm of Dubai Investments PJSC, has recently announced the adoption of new measures that are aimed at further enhancing the quality of its anodized and powder coated profiles. The most significant development at Emirates Extrusions is the introduction of a new water treatment line that has a daily capacity of 90 cubic meters, and will supply water with a quality less than 35 milligram (mg) per liter, ideal for anodizing, powder coating and pressing of aluminium profiles.

The company has also boosted its powder coating line by installing a high quality powder booth, and adding guns and reciprocators, which together will help improve quality, maximize production and reduce downtime. Another important installation at Emirates Extrusions is the Deioniser, which will deliver high quality water, with less than 5 mg/liter impurities. The Deioniser will go a long way in helping the company attain the Qualicoat certificate, the quality label for coating on metal for architectural applications.

Khalfan Al Suwaidi, General Manager, Emirates Extrusions Factory, said, "Emirates Extrusions has always been committed to offer products of the highest quality, which has also been a factor that has helped us build an impressive clientele in the region. The new water treatment line, the Deioniser and the enhancements to our powder coating line will further augment both the quality of process and the final product, while also boosting productivity."

Water treatment plays an important role in aluminium extrusion, especially since the process requires a cooling system where good quality of water is a prerequisite to run the system smoothly. Saline water will result in salt deposition in the system that can lead to blockage and consequent breakdown of the whole system. Moreover, surface treatment processes such as pre-treatment in powder coating and anodizing, which are an integral part of aluminium extrusion, require good quality water - water quality less than 35mg/liter.

Emirates Extrusions Factory recently announced its decision to set up a new extrusion plant that will house four high-capacity production lines, equipped with the latest technologies in aluminium extrusion. In addition, a new powder coating plant will be constructed that is set to improve production capacity by more than two tons per hour.

Since its establishment in 1993, Emirates Extrusions has been offering an impressive range of premium-quality, energy-efficient extruded aluminium profiles as part of its continuing strategy to consolidate its presence in the global market. The company's offerings, which include windows and doors, curtain wall, structural glazing, partition system and hand rail systems, are manufactured in conformity with ISO 9001 standards, certifying the company is adopting consistent processes for production of quality products.
