• The DTC will allow prospective wholesale clients to physically inspect goods before ordering

Muscat: Muscat Grand Mall (MGM), the renowned shopping destination in Oman, saw the launch of the DHgate.com’s first wholesale storefront Digital Trade Centre (DTC) at its premises recently. With the introduction of the DTC, Chinese sellers can sell their goods worldwide through a cross-border B2B approach. Furthermore, this allows consumers to inspect items in person before making any purchases.

DHgate was founded by Diane Wang in Beijing in August 2004 and officially established in 2005. The concept behind naming the brand revolves around the reference to Dunhuang (DH), a Chinese city that was formerly a strategic location on the Silk Road in ancient times, linking the country to the rest of the world. The name also further enhances the company’s brand identity as a modern, online version of the Silk Road, by digitally providing connections to Chinese and global SMEs.

DHgate.com sells a range of products, including electronics, apparel, health and beauty items, and many more. It is considered the largest digital platform in China that focuses exclusively on B2B transactions.

The DTC in Oman will focus on integrating online and offline business models to allow improved communications with wholesalers for easier purchase opportunities. Buyers can place an order using the DHgate app or scan the QR code accompanying the product and it will be shipped to them.

The DTC has a unique feature of maintaining a close relationship with Chinese suppliers, ensuring easy product repairs, returns, refunds, exchanges, and quality assurance guarantees without the hassle of the buyers shipping goods back to China.
