Abu Dhabi, UAE 09 April 2013: Junior doctors have the chance to study for the popular Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP) in Abu Dhabi later this year.

The course leader, Imperial College London's Professor Karim Meeran said that MRCP Part 1 and Part 2 will take place from May 9-11 at Imperial College London Diabetes Centre (ICLDC), the state-of-the art centre for the treatment of diabetes in the UAE capital.

He said that the programmes provide excellent preparation for the coveted MRCP examination - a must-have examination for medical specialists, and confirmed that MRCP Part 1 and Part 2 are accredited by HAAD (Abu Dhabi Health Authority) for 21.5 and 22 CME hours respectively.

"We are well aware how of tough the MRCP exams are to pass and we seek to prepare doctors for likely questions helping them pass with confidence."

He added that as people live longer and populations grow, so does the need for doctors, adding that holding the courses in the UAE serves the demand from the burgeoning pool of doctors-in-training region wide. Indeed, recent courses have had an international flavour with participants from Canada and the UK, as well as from the region with the likes of Oman, Qatar and Kuwait represented.

ICLDC plans to host at least three separate MRCP programmes this year using its purpose-designed lecture theatre. The Centre also offers easy access to a number of hotels and Abu Dhabi International Airport.
