Dubai, November 25, 2007: FAMCO (Al-Futtaim Auto & Machinery Company), the Al-Futtaim Group's market-leading distributor of Volvo Construction Equipment, Trucks and Buses, today announced that it will be showcasing the latest additions to its Volvo Construction Equipment product range  at the BIG5 PMV from 25th - 29th November 2007.

A full range of equipment will be on display at the FAMCO stand located at 0E5, including the new generation Volvo Wheel Loader (F-series) and Volvo Articulated Hauler (E-series), together with Volvo's recently acquired line of Ingersoll Rand Road Machinery. Merlo Telescopic Handlers, will also be displayed for which FAMCO has recently taken the exclusive distribution rights for the UAE.

The F-Series Volvo wheel loaders are designed for minimal impact on the environment with low emissions, high-performance engines, safety and operator comfort. Featuring a powerful and intelligent load-sensing hydraulic system, which provides power by delivering the exact amount of hydraulic oil flow when required, the Volvo transmission on the F-Series offers the smoothest possible gear-change. The Automatic Power Shift (APS), with automatic mode selector and Fully Automatic Power Shift (FAPS) automatically downshifts to first gear providing smooth gear shifts and comfort.

Safe operation is of paramount importance to Volvo. The Roll-Over Protection System (ROPS) on the new F-Series ensures safe operation together with a unique Volvo 'Care Cab'. An extremely efficient cab filtration and ventilation system, large windows, narrow pillars and a sloped engine hood design give optimized all-round visibility, whilst improved noise insulation makes the cab one of the quietest as well as one of the most spacious and comfortable cabs on the market.

The turbocharged Volvo V-ACT, Tier 3/Stage IIIA-approved engine provides tremendous power and impressive low-end torque to the F-Series, resulting in outstanding fuel economy, reliability and durability with low levels of noise and exhaust emissions. The engine has over-speed protection for optimal performance in all operating conditions and, saving fuel, the hydrostatically driven, electronically controlled fan works only when needed.

Volvo's wheel loader range has increased versatility through a wide range of Volvo genuine attachments. With bucket sizes from 1.2M3 to 12.7M3, the latest addition to the Volvo CE product range provides an excellent solution for truck loading, industrial and material handling as well as highly competitive work within the mining and extraction industries.

Volvo Construction Equipment is constantly moving forward with the introduction of new technology. The Volvo E-Series Articulated Hauler is the latest expression of more than 40 years spent perfecting the art and design of articulated haulers. The latest range of Volvo E-series articulated haulers offers advanced features able to function under the toughest conditions. Like all Volvo products, they offer more uptime, excellent value, and are extremely safe. The E-series comprises 7 haulers, with a load capacity from 24 to 39 tons, and includes two self-compensating hydraulic full suspension models. It has been designed to do what Volvo does best - safeguarding operators, the environment and the customer's investment. Powered by the latest generation V-ACT (Volvo Advanced Combustion Technology) engines, the E-series offers relentless power and boasts a 'Care Cab' which offers ultimate safety for the operator.

Also on display at the exhibition will be FAMCO's leading range of soil compactors, asphalt rollers and Titan paver finishers which now also fall under the Volvo umbrella as a result of Volvo Construction Equipment acquiring the Ingersoll Rand Road Development Division earlier this year.

FAMCO has also recently strengthened its product range with the world-renowned Merlo telescopic handler. Merlo's range includes 70 handlers, concrete mixers and tracked carriers, ideally suited to todays confined work sites. Also part of the Merlo product range, a revolutionary Merlo-pioneered slewing handler - the 'ROTO' - is an incredibly versatile machine with an endless rotation of 360º.

Other products on display at the stand include: the Volvo 70-ton excavator (EC700B LC), the Volvo G990 motor grader equipped with the industry's first 11-speed transmission, Volvo's proven backhoe loader (BL61) and the versatile compact loader (L30B).
