Conducts focused workshop to showcase ICT solutions for the Construction sector

Dubai, February 07, 2011: Etisalat today announced a strategic collaboration with NoteVault, a leading provider of voice-based mobile reporting solutions for the construction industry, to jointly offer Construction Site Management Solutions in the UAE.

In a focused group ICT workshop hosted by Etisalat targeted for the construction sector - developers, MEP contracting firms, and contractors -  Etisalat showcased how  ICT solutions can deliver the impetus to the construction business through advanced solutions such as Construction Site Management, Smart City solutions and Remote Office Solutions.

The unique Construction Site Management solution, jointly offered with NoteVault, fills a huge void in the construction industry by enabling field workers to easily report project activity directly from the field using nothing but their mobile phone. Project Managers can simply speak their daily notes into their mobile, which gets generated in a project report, available through email or a web-based interface. This solution will enable on-site managers to create timely reports, while simplifying the hassle and inconvenience of daily construction reporting.

Commenting on the Etisalat's advanced ICT offerings for the construction sector, Abdulla Hashim, Senior Vice President, Business Solutions, Etisalat said, "The construction sector today is on a transformational pivotal point, where businesses need to take prudent yet swift action. Leveraging technology hence becomes crucial, not only from a cost perspective but also from an operations perspective. With advanced solutions like Construction Site Management solution, businesses can create the much needed momentum in the sector, while saving costs and increasing productivity."

Besides showcasing the Construction Site Management solution, the ICT workshop also demonstrated advanced Smart City Solutions.  The Smart City concept showcased by Etisalat focuses on smart services customized to improve quality of life by enhancing the efficiency of City/Community management and operation. The building blocks of Etisalat Smart City consist of Smart Lifestyle Service, Smart City Management Service, Smart Home Service, Smart Transportation service.

Etisalat also showcased the recently launched Emirates Energy Star programme that aims to reduce energy consumed by existing commercial and governmental buildings in the UAE by up to 20 per cent by 2015.

"ICT can play a critical role in facilitating growth by allowing organizations to move away from a capital expenditure model to an operational expenditure model, while being productive and environment friendly. With our ICT expertise, innovative solutions and state of the art infrastructure, Etisalat can provide a very strong value proposition to drive productivity and optimize efficiencies across the value chain for the construction businesses," Hashim added.
