eSys Distribution, the leading IT component distribution network in the world, has announced plans to diversify its product and services portfolio, as well as set up a 50,000 square feet warehouse and manufacturing facility in Jebel Ali. According to Pavan Gupta, General Manager, eSys Technologies, Middle East, the wholly owned subsidiary of eSys Distribution PTE Singapore, the new plans are in line with the company’s stated objective of consolidating its lead position in the regional markets.
“eSys has a global distribution network that already covers 95 per cent of the total available global markets for distribution of IT components. The company has distinguished itself by introducing many firsts to its partners in the distribution chain,” said Gupta. “Among the firsts is a customer focused strategy that supports the profitability of the buyer as well as the channel partner. eSys is also the pioneer of low-cost Linux-based multi-media PCs, recently introduced in certain global markets. Structured as a global business, the company has set new standards in reducing operating costs, without compromising on quality.”
“As a world-wide distribution company present in the Middle East, eSys is well-equipped to introduce global IT trends into the local markets. As a total component solution provider, the company can ensure reduced purchase costs. Its efficient logistics have placed it in the lead position in the regional market, as in the many other global markets. However, eSys is a growing company and we constantly seek to add value to our offerings,” explained Gupta.
In the coming months, eSys will be launching its own product-line of computer accessories, in the Middle East markets. The portfolio will include an innovative range of products, including Flash Memory products, USB Flash Disc drives and others still under development. The new product range will help eSys enrich its portfolio for the Middle East with technologies that are new, not just to the region, but elsewhere around the world as well.
In the field of services, eSys will continue to enrich its customer service team, adding, in the process, considerable value to the efforts of its partners in the market. Structured around an aggressive global business model, the company has created comprehensive back-office operations in India, where they can take advantage of highly advanced IT systems and infrastructure along with skilled human capital, to keep operational costs low without comprising on quality. This has freed in-country resources of the subsidiaries from operational overheads; concentrating instead on a highly informed and qualified customer service and sales team.
Over the years, with customer service and sales teams far outnumbering the operational and logistic workforce, the company has been able to put in place a focused RMA (Returned Material Authorisation) strategy. Consequently, eSys can provide relatively faster replacement and less turnaround time for the customer.
In a related development, taking advantage of its reputation as the most reliable and comprehensive distributor in the market and its success in launching its own brand of low-cost multi-media PCs in many global markets, eSys intends to diversify into complete PC solutions for the Middle East markets. The new warehouse and manufacturing facility coming up in Jebel Ali will enable eSys to process bulk orders of 1000 or more PCs for interested organisations in the region.
This would address the requirements of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) wishing to outsource the manufacturing process. Another target segment would be organisations such as educational institutes that are looking for low-cost high-quality alternatives for inducting IT into day-to-day classroom activities. Building on the high-quality of components already distributed by eSys, the new Linux-based PCs will also revolutionise the way in which SMBs (small and medium businesses) perceive IT adoption.
“When we entered the Middle East markets in 2001, we made a commitment to create partnerships that will continually seek technological excellence and evolution,” said Gupta. “We have won market confidence in our ability to deliver uncompromisingly high quality of products and services. Now we are entering a new stage of growth in which we intend to revolutionise the IT scenarios in the region.”
