Earlier this year, the UAE Cabinet endorsed the move to grant long-term residency permits (Gold Cards) to creators, innovators and entrepreneurs based on their contribution and influence on society, and Dubai Culture adopted a new policy to grant the first cultural visa in the world. This initiative will position the UAE as a leader of the global cultural scene by attracting writers, artists, and creators, and establishing itself as the incubator for the most important Arab and international talents and creations hub worldwide.
Carrying out that vision is Maxine English, Partner of Park Lane Live who has dedicated over twenty years of her career ensuring that the UAE is firmly established in the global arena of showcasing local and international talent. Maxine's experience in entertainment and theatre management is unparalleled in the region, with a unique and diverse skill set featuring everything from government events and theatrical production to “Triple A “artists rock and pop showcase concerts.
Commenting on her recognition English was quick to highlight how far the industry has evolved. “To be recognised by The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority for my industry contributions is both an honour and a privilege. I have witnessed and contributed to the rapid expansion of establishing the city of Dubai in its quest to shape arts and culture both regionally and globally, and I am committed to furthering growth and expansion with exciting talent and initiatives for the future”.
Under the leadership of His Excellency Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Chairman; and Her Highness Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dubai Culture has played a crucial role in further establishing Dubai as a vibrant, global Arabian metropolis that shapes culture and the arts in the region.
