Plan to jointly launch the "See it... Sense it" technology for the first time in the UAE at their conference - EmiratesTech 2006

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, April 27, 2006: Emirates Computers, the leading technology distributor and integrator in the Middle East, today announced that it has partnered with INFOCAD S.A., the supplier of advanced technology solutions, to bring world-leading technologies and best practices to the UAE industrial sector. The two companies are organizing a conference titled 'EmiratesTech 2006' in Abu Dhabi and Dubai on April 29th and May 2nd respectively, which will focus on cutting edge solutions and technologies targeting the industrial sector. Emirates Computers will also be introducing the latest Virtual Reality (VR) Visualization solutions from UK-based Company, Virtalis, for the first time in the UAE.

"The UAE has a vision to differentiate itself both in terms of innovation and quality of products and services offered. To fulfill this vision, companies and organizations need to leverage the very best in cutting-edge technologies," says Mr. Tony Abou-Jawad, Technical Computing Unit Manager, Emirates Computers. "The VR Visualization solution is revolutionizing the way products are conceived, developed and manufactured worldwide. We plan to introduce this state-of-the-art technology to the UAE at our conference, EmiratesTech 2006. We will also be addressing Product Lifecycle Management, Reverse Engineering and Quality Control issues at this event. Delegates will have the opportunity to review live demonstrations of these technologies at the exhibition that will run in conjunction with the conference," Mr. Abou-Jawad adds.

VR Visualization solutions turn visions into reality. Using this technology, a virtual product can be created, functioning entirely within a virtual environment. The applications for this technology are far reaching and it can be used in almost any situation where the cost of producing a 'real' operational environment or the cost of developing a new product would be high. Using an integrated VR and advanced visualization system leaves a development team free to experiment with new design concepts and involve collaborators and customers at the crucial early stages, enabling maximum input and allowing design optimization. The added value of having a communication interface between different disciplines and throughout the complete product development cycle can create a real competitive edge for companies looking to offer high quality, innovative products. Over the next five years, global manufacturers are expected to invest more than 25 billion US dollars in product development solutions, so having the most advanced tools now provides them with a major competitive advantage.

"The Virtalis 'Blue-Chip' customer base encompasses the Automotive, Aerospace & Defence, Mechanical/Construction, Heavy Equipment and Shipbuilding market world-wide, and the company recognizes that the UAE, with its dynamic, high technology-based economy, could be a prime user of such advanced technologies," Mr. Paul Gately, Business Development Manager, Virtalis comments.

"The advantage of VR visualization is the ability to share a mutual vision and in the United Arab Emirates, such visions are conceived, evaluated and approved on a daily basis. This makes the ability to bring a customer face-to-face with a virtual product giving him the opportunity to effectively convey and communicate the design intent, therefore gaining customer approval well in advance of the manufacturing stage, very valuable." Mr. Gately adds.

Virtalis has been a pioneer of VR Visualization technologies for more than 15 years and its cutting edge technology provides a comprehensive breadth of functionality needed to enable companies and organizations to successfully execute strategies and initiatives in virtual collaborative environments. Virtalis technology helps to manage risk more effectively, enhances communication and comprehension and improves profitability. Virtalis business manager, Mr. Paul Gately, will discuss how customers are benefiting from this technology in the Construction, Defence, Oil & Gas, Heavy and General Engineering sectors to optimize their processes and enhance product innovation and development.

EmiratesTech 2006 takes place in Abu Dhabi on April 29th, 2006 and in Dubai on May 2nd, 2006, giving local industrialists the chance to participate in a conference with the most advanced technology solutions. EmiratesTech 2006 will also address Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Reverse Engineering and Quality Control issues, as well as the role that Rapid Prototyping plays in creating innovative products.
