Dubai: Dubai Quality Group (DQG) will officially launch its HR Subgroup tomorrow at Al Bustan Rotana Hotel. On this occasion, HR Subgroup has organized a panel discussion entitled "Effectively Rightsizing Human Resources in Recessionary Times" to address one of the most challenging and critical HR issues facing organizations. The panel consists of three subject matter experts in their respective fields. The interactive event will benefit every individual attending it, no matter which domain they belong to as it addresses the most important resource of any organization-the people. The event is sponsored by Ajman Bank and Horwath Mak Executive Resourcing.
Considering how organizations have reacted to the current scenario, making recession-fuelled redundancies, it's very timely for HR Subgroup to bring together HR professionals and employers in sharing a common platform to discuss strategies and tools to focus their efforts on engaging and retaining their top performers while rightsizing their human resources.
Imran Jawaid, Public Relations Head of HR subgroup said: "The present situation clearly depicts just how much this recession has strengthened the role of HR professionals, accelerating their move to the strategic centre of organizations as they implement and lead their employers' responses to the downturn".
The HR Subgroup, headed by Chander Mohan as its Chairman and supported by an Executive Committee comprising of highly experienced and dedicated HR professionals, is committed to collective learning and sharing of knowledge and experience for the benefit of the members of DQG and community at large.
Its vision is to champion the implementation of global HR Best Practices to achieve organizational excellence. The Subgroup has plans to organize a series of seminars, workshops, accredited certifications, benchmarking surveys and conferences during 2010. HR professionals from DQG member organizations can join the HR Subgroup to participate in and support its activities. Worth mentioning that the attendance to this free event is a subject to prior registration and confirmation by DQG.
A non-profit organization set up by the Dubai Department of Economic Development, DQG is an internationally recognized knowledge hub that promotes Business Excellence and enhances competitiveness of the business community. It was formed in February 1994, and since then it has grown to include more than 2,000 individuals representing over 380 prominent organizations from both the private and the public sectors.
