Dubai, UAE: The World Gold Council announced that gold jewellery trends particularly favour cut-out and filigree work designs offering lightweight yet voluminous jewellery, highlighted by floral and nature motifs such as butterflies, as also sentimental, endearing touches such as hearts and names and even dates. Despite the economic downturn, in a recent holiday jewellery spending survey, conducted by the National Jeweller Network in USA, it was seen that jewellery, especially gold jewellery, remained on shopping lists, with those in the higher brackets planning to spend more this year-end holiday season.
"Gold trends for the holiday season display a strong preference for yellow gold, which sees a resurgence of popularity worldwide. Gold jewellery is also the most preferred choice of accessory as it is seen to give your money's worth. Variety and a sense of adventure to try different styles, offers consumers an unprecedented array of design excellence asserting gold's timeless charm once more," said Ms. Lama Al Saheb, Head of marketing and PR, Middle East Region, World Gold Council.
Featured is World Gold Council's and L'Azurde's celebrity brand ambassador Elissa, the popular singing sensation of Lebanon who sports the season's trends, with glamorous effects. In the first picture she wears a yellow gold necklace, drop earrings, bracelet and ring featuring large links and delightful filigree designs in round cut out shapes. Casual yet trendy, it's a set that can be worn anytime.
In the next picture, Elissa adorns an utterly feminine set featuring large flower motifs strung on link patterns that can effortlessly be strung on a chain as pendant, or dangle on drop earrings, charm bracelets and rings too. In another image the star is seen sporting a yellow gold set combining three motifs - butterflies, flowers and even hearts on a riveting necklace that closely graces her neck, adorns her wrist as a charm bracelet and claims your attention as a ring.
Gold trends of the season also display a strong preference for multihued gold combinations such as yellow gold with touches of white gold, or rose gold, and also blending textures of opposite nature such as rope-like weave patterns with highly polished links. Shapes too are combined, such as round with square or oval, departing from a rigid, structured look to a more flowing, casual even sporty look that turns gold jewellery into a fun experience of personal taste and individual expression.
