New Citrix Access Gateway Enterprise Edition Receives ICSA 2.0 Certification for Secure Access Standards, while Citrix NetScaler Application Firewall Passes Rigorous ICSA Labs Premier Services Certification for Web Application Security
Dubai - March 8, 2006
Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), the global leader in access infrastructure solutions, today announced that ICSA Labs, an independent division of Cybertrust, Inc., has certified its new Citrix Access Gateway Enterprise Edition for passing all the requirements of its rigid and demanding new 2.0 SSL VPN security certification testing criteria, while the Citrix NetScaler Application Firewall passed a rigorous set of functional, performance, and platform security requirements as part of the ICSA Labs Premier Services criteria for Web application security.
Citrix Access Gateway Enterprise Edition extends the company's leadership at the high end of the SSL VPN market with a new edition that adds increased scalability and performance for the most complex and demanding enterprise environments. The new Enterprise Edition joins an Access Gateway product line that became the fastest growing SSL VPN solution on the market in 2005, passing the previous market leader in total unit shipments in the second half of the year[1]. Citrix was also named a visionary in the most recent Gartner Magic Quadrant report for SSL VPN solutions[2].
"ICSA Labs certification has long been a standard for excellence in the security industry," said Antoine Aguado, Regional Manager, Citrix Middle East. "With this certification, Citrix Access Gateway customers in the Middle East can be assured they will have a product that meets high standards for security, functionality and reliability."
For the Citrix NetScaler Application Firewall, specifically, ICSA Labs certified that it utilizes a positive security model rejecting all traffic that is not known to be good, reducing the possibility of data theft, credit card theft and identity theft. The NetScaler Application Firewall also cloaks internal application structures, offers advanced SSL support, and, most importantly, detects and prevents against entire classes of Web application attacks. Certification by ICSA Labs required that the Citrix NetScaler Application Firewall undergo extensive real world, continuous testing to ensure that it meets the highest industry regulations and independent third party certification testing standards.
"Security is one of the most critical aspects of Web application delivery. Because Web applications connect to some of the most sensitive data in any company, they make an extremely attractive target for hackers. This ICSA Labs certification is the most recent validation that customers can depend on the Citrix NetScaler Application Firewall to provide the most comprehensive, trusted Web application security available on the market today," added Aguado.
"ICSA Labs upholds the strictest commitment to security standards set by a demanding industry, and Citrix is one of a select group of vendors that deliver a product that meets or exceeds ICSA Labs' rigorous 2.0 testing criteria," said Brian Monkman, SSL VPN Program Manager at ICSA Labs. "ICSA Labs SSL VPN 2.0 certification should assure Citrix's customers that their remote users are protected to the industry's highest standards when they use Access Gateway to access sensitive applications and data."
"Achieving this certification for its Web application firewall product ensures that Citrix customers benefit from best practices in the security industry for all their Web application needs," added Sam Glesner, Premiere Services Group Manager of ICSA Labs.
