Canon imagePRESS 1110, imagePRESS 1125 and imagePRESS 1135 black and white printers to launch across Middle East
Designed as the perfect complement for Corporate Reprographic Departments, print-for-pay and commercial markets
Helix Production Workflow developed as a stand-alone or integrated web submission and production workflow system
Dubai, UAE, 21 May 2009: - Canon Middle East, world leader in digital imaging, today unveiled details of its Helix Production Workflow and its monochrome imagePRESS range, with a scheduled Middle East launch date for both products in April this year.
Three new monochrome models will make up a family of presses that are suited to Corporate Reprographic Departments, Print-for-Pay, and Commercial production markets, depending on scalability and needs. Canon research highlights that currently just under a third of all production printing is black only, and 42% of this volume is printed digitally, providing a real need for monochrome production presses.
The Canon imagePRESS 1110 operates at up to 6,600iph, the Canon imagePRESS 1125 has a rated speed of up to 7,500iph, while the Canon imagePRESS 1135 runs at up to 8,100iph. All three models are capable of printing on uncoated stocks from 52gsm to 300gsm (up to 240gsm on coated stocks) at up to 1,200dpi, to deliver some of the highest quality black and white images on the market today. Together they represent a modular family of digital printing presses that provide the productivity, versatility and quality to meet almost any need.
Whilst starting at a price point close to that of light production output devices, the printers have the durability to match mid-range production level presses, with duty cycles up to 3 million impressions per month. Applications range from catalogues, booklets, direct mail, presentations, newsletters, financial statements, forms, directories and cross media campaigns, to name a few.
In order to maximise the functionality of the imagePRESS range, all shipments now have the option to come supplied with the Helix Production Workflow system, developed by software development specialists NT-Ware. Delivered as a standalone system or as part of an integrated package with a new printer, Helix Production Workflow is designed to streamline the on-demand production printing process, add value to personalised short-run print, integrate print ordering and production, and effectively manage busy print rooms.
Helix Production Workflow will be especially useful as a link from the Web-to-Print networks directly through to production facilities. According to InfoTrends research figures, Web-to-Print order volumes are set to double between 2006 and 2010 to more than 8 billion impressions a year, with more than 50% of all print providers across Europe offering this service by next year.
The Helix Production Workflow system is designed to be one of the most intuitive and productive workflow solutions available on the market to link all elements of job production with the Canon imagePRESS family. In addition, it can also build on and integrate with Canon's existing uniFLOW Output Manager, enabling a seamless integration with existing users of an office printer fleet.
Ayman Aly, Production Solution Product Manager, Canon Middle East, said: "We are tremendously pleased to showcase both the Canon imagePRESS monochrome presses and Helix Production Workflow. Since their initial showing at drupa last year we have worked hard to perfect the proposition we bring to market with the most modern, functional, up-to-date print engines and workflow solutions.
"The Canon imagePRESS 1110, imagePRESS 1125 and imagePRESS 1135 offer a scalable family of printers that meets the needs of CRDs, Print-for-Pay businesses and Commercial Printers arena. When linked to Helix Production Workflow, they offer our customers highly efficient and cost effective integrated solutions. This is an example of the significant ongoing investment and commitment by Canon in the graphic arts sector," concluded Ayman Aly.
Prices for Helix Production Workflow and imagePRESS 1110, imagePRESS 1125, and imagePRESS 1135 are available on request.
