British Airways has expanded its oneworld alliance with American Airlines to offer GCC customers a codeshare route to Calgary, the oil capital of Canada.

"The expansion of our codeshare agreement with American Airlines is in line with our overall business strategy to provide better service to our valued customers. The addition of Calgary specifically facilitates those working in the oil industry. The codeshare route will allow passengers further choice and more convenient travel itineraries," says Steve Harrison British Airways' Area Manager, Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia.

British Airways offers 42 flights per week to London Heathrow from the GCC offering its award winning FIRST, Club World, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller cabins.

Other destinations included in the expanded codeshare agreement include Ottawa and Wichita from Chicago whilst San Juan is accessible from Miami.

In addition to British Airways' codeshare agreement with American Airlines the company has also teamed up with BA CitiExpress to provide additional routes to and from Manchester, Glasgow and Inverness.
