Aba Al Khail: Our Brand Identity Reflects Our Vision And The Start Of A New And Important Part Of Our Journey

Dr. Al awadh: going against the stereotypical logo design is a hallmark of our brand identity

Riyadh - Bank Al Bilad unveiled its new brand identity, which signifies the start of a new phase in the banks work, which precedes the Initial Public Offering (IPO) scheduled to start on the 12th of Muharam 1425 H corresponding to 21st  of February 2005. The logo and brand identity was unveiled during a gala event at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh that was attended by senior bank executives and a large number of journalists and media corp.

During the gala event, Mr. Azam Bin Abdullah Aba Al Khail, CEO of BANK ALBILAD reiterated the importance of unveiling the bank' brand identity at this very important juncture, which comes before the banks IPO; he said, "We are aware that the people here are eager to participate in the banks IPO and their fervor is even greater when it comes to when we will begin to offer our services, they are all awaiting to see our brand identity, so that they are able to make a connection to the bank that they plan to invest in or deal with. As you well know, the IPO is but a few days away, and by unveiling our brand identity today, we wanted to provide our future investors and customers greater satisfaction and to deal with them in a transparent manner".  He further added, "We thank Allah who guided us in our efforts in designing our brand identity; as we endeavor to present ourselves in a way that reflects our vision, values that set us apart and which is the foundation upon which we stand."

Afterwards Dr. Mohammad Al Awadh, Director of the Marketing Group, gave a detailed presentation which included an audio/visual film that explains the new logo's different elements and what they stand for. Commenting during the presentation, he said, "The banks logo represents a new and unique character which goes against the conventional design in light of its special design and attractive colors. The logo is unique as it embodies and symbolizes the banks vision and is directly linked to with its values and its strategy. In finalizing the banks brand identity, we spent a considerable amount of time, effort through the detailed studies of marketing research, logo designs, color schemes and all in conjunction with leading brand experts and designers; and we are confident that our efforts will reap its reward as we hope our brand identity will get the approval of our customers and bank employees".

Also in attendance was the Director of the Sharia Group, Dr. Mohammad Al Osaimi, who added that the bank has received considerable attention and support from all sections of society, due to the Sharia compliant basis of its product offerings and banking services, which will be overseen by the Sharia Group that he heads and whose members include Dr. Abdullah Al Ammar, Dr. Abdulaziz Al Fozan and Dr. Yousuf Al Shubaily. The Sharia Group is charged with overseeing all aspects related to the banks programs, services, and products that will be offered to make sure that they are in compliance with Islamic Law.

The logo has three main elements:
First: The lower portion or the circular object at the bottom of the logo and it represents:

          The Globe: it represents the spread of the BANK ALBILAD's physical presence across the breadth of the country in order to have the largest geographic coverage of the Kingdom and thus be able to serve our customer wherever they may be. Furthermore, the globe represents the banks desire and ambition to use the latest best-in-class world-wide banking techniques, services that are Sharia compliant in order to offer the banks clients a service that is second to none.

            The Dome: has come to symbolize Islamic architecture, which in turn reiterates the banks complete obligation to represent its Sharia-based services within its logo and brand identity.

            The Metal Currency: Directly symbolizes the banks basic work which is to invest and grow the customers deposits in addition to offering all other banking and financial services.

Second: The upper part of the logo and it represents:

The Crack of Dawn or Sunrise: the sunrise represents the start of the day or the start of a new day which gives people hope, and it also restates the renewed and bright start for all the banks customers by the grace of Allah.

The Countries Vista: the color schemes various shades represent the kingdom's desert landscape and golden sands, and through it the bank reflects upon it its adherence to the traditions and customs of this land. It further represents that any service, human resource development is from this land and for this land.

Third: The middle part of the logo:

The Crescent: It represents the start of the new lunar month and it also represents the new beginning in the same manner as the sunrise, moreover it also represents Islamic Architecture.

The Path: It symbolizes the path that represents the bright future that the bank will take its customers to, in a way that surpasses their expectations and ambitions and rewards them for making this choice the right choice.

The logo colors and line representation: The logo colors have been chosen with extreme care in order to convey the symbols and meaning that is associated with the logo, which in its entirety reflects the banks vision, its values, and customer care strategy. As for the line representation it will quickly re-enforce what the bank represents in terms of original traditions of this land.

The Appearance of the Logo: The overall manifest appeal which reflects its development, distinctiveness and offering what is new is self-evident in all its well-defined details.

It is noteworthy to add that BANK ALBILAD will offer Islamic based products and services, offering an integrated array of products that are Sharia compliant which will be approved by the Bank's Sharia Committee, whose set up will be announced during the Constituent Assembly. BANK ALBILAD which has been established under Sharia principles aims to market and offer a new range of banking and financial services that are both competitive, which aims to invest the large and excess liquidity available in Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, the banks intends to be an important addition to the Saudi banking sector.
