Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain - 14 November 2010 His Excellency the Ambassador of The People's Republic of China Yang Weiguo and his wife Wang Yan Fen visited Bahrain Bay Development B.S.C.(c), the $2.5 billion landmark waterfront community located off the north east shore of Manama.

The Deputy CEO of Bahrain Bay, Abdulla Al Doseri, welcomed His Excellency the Ambassador and his wife to the Bahrain Bay project. Whilst visiting the onsite Marketing Centre, the Ambassador and his wife were given a presentation on the development and investment opportunities. During the meeting the Ambassador and Mr. Al Doseri discussed the opportunities available within the project for Chinese investors.

Following the presentation, Mr Al Doseri escorted the Ambassador and his wife on a site tour of the project. The tour included the iconic Arcapita Headquarters building and the Arcapita mosque which is due to be completed in the coming weeks. The tour also included the developments state-of-the-art district cooling plant and the projects three bridges, which are in their final stages of construction.

Impressed with the overall project and by the Bahrain Bay executive management team's ongoing efforts in implementing the development plan, the Ambassador extended his congratulations to Bahrain Bay on creating a significant real estate project that supports the country's real estate and financial position as well as Bahrain's Vision 2030. The Ambassador also congratulated Bahrain Bay on their recent achievement of being pronounced the best mixed used development in the Middle East by Bloomberg, at this year's International Property Awards. Following this, he extended an official invitation to Abdulla Al Doseri, DCEO of Bahrain Bay, to visit China and meet with the country's key real estate figures.

Commenting on the visit, Mr. Al Doseri said, "It has been a great honour to welcome His Excellency Yang Weiguo and his wife to the Bahrain Bay Development and introduce them to the Bahrain Bay team. We appreciate the time taken by the Ambassador to visit our project.  Both Bahrain and Bahrain Bay have close ties with China and we look forward to growing our relationship with the Government and people of China."

Bahrain Bay is a master plan development which will see the creation of a waterfront district designed around vibrant neighbourhoods of residential, commercial and retail spaces, all based upon the unique concept of an island connected by two bridges forming an inner harbour. To date 65 percent of Bahrain Bay's land parcels have been sold and the project has a total of 13 Third Party Developers on board.
