Doha: On Monday, 11th of March, Aspire Academy hosted a university fair for its high school student-athletes in collaboration with the Council of International Schools (CIS) to showcase 17 universities from the U.S.A and Canada. Grade 11 and 12 students-athletes had the chance to meet educational experts from the international universities and learn about the various majors on offer and understand entry qualifications.

Stemming from Aspire Academy’s mission to develop well-educated sports champions, the annual University Fair demonstrated the wide range of educational opportunities available after graduating from high school. Hosting the event reflects the Academy’s overarching goal of guiding and supporting students into educational paths that are rewarding, fulfilling and relevant to their career development goals after life at Aspire Academy.

Commenting on the CIS University Fair, senior student counselor at Aspire Academy, Dr. Mohammed Al-Anazi, said: “The University Fair provides the best opportunities for our current student-athletes by exposing them to world class international educational institutes. The aim of doing so is to help them discover their dream programme or get a feel of other suitable study options. Through the host of such fairs at Aspire Academy, we provide the perfect balance of educational and athletic world-class experiences.”

Commenting on the event, Doug Wren, tour manager of CIS, said; “We are here to recruit international students to get them to study in one of our 900-member schools, from the U.S.A, Canada, or the United Kingdom. After our close face-face interaction with the students here we found that they’re completely qualified to study in global universities.”

The universities that attended the fair included: Portland State University, Columbia College, Lynn University, Lakehead University, Connecticut College, Elon University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Foothill and de Anza Colleges, Miami International University of Art and Design, Savannah College, Marist College, Susquehanna University, University of Colorado, University of New Heaven and the University of Tulsa.
