Abu Dhabi , UAE ,  28 November 2007:   Amadeus Gulf, a leading global technology and distribution partner for the travel and tourism industry, has entered into a strategic agreement with the Abu Dhabi based Gulf Travel Training Centre (GTTC) wherein Amadeus will offer globally recognized certification courses to students interested in a career in the travel and tourism industry.

According to the terms of the agreement, Amadeus Gulf will offer a comprehensive training involving booking, ticketing and the methods and features of online reservation systems, based on the Amadeus IT solutions. Aimed at offering a better understanding of the industry, the course will help the students acquire a competitive advantage in their career. The agreement will also allow Amadeus Gulf to recommend travel agents, and other industry professionals, for training at GTTC, to develop their practical skills in the use of the distribution system.

Mr. Ghulam Saleh Al Baloushi, General Manager, Amadeus Gulf, speaking about the agreement said that by sponsoring educational programmes, Amadeus Gulf hopes to instil the necessary skills and expertise that are crucial for the travel industry professionals to compete in the global market.  He said: "The sponsorship agreement between Gulf Travel Training Centre (GTTC) and Amadeus Gulf will enhance training standards according to international standards.  Joint training sessions and practical classes will be arranged at the GTTC premises to provide students an opportunity to grasp and hone their skills on the latest Amadeus solutions"

GTTC Manager Training and Development, Shaikh Liyakath Ali said "Getting into a partnership with an industry leader in technology like Amadeus Gulf, is a key milestone for GTTC and this will help our students learn new skills and technologies required in the highly competitive and dynamic travel industry".

He added: "Amadeus' IT solutions are innovative and user friendly. These solutions are widely used by travel agents and airlines operating in Abu Dhabi.  Companies in Abu Dhabi have already shown interest in recruiting GTTC students qualified in the use of Amadeus system.  This not only gives our students a head start as they enter the travel workforce but also provides a good opportunity to demonstrate their talents."

The duration of the agreement is one year.
