DAMMAM — As many as 78,884 plastic surgeries were conducted in various regions in the Kingdom during 2017 and 2018, the Ministry of Health has said in a statistical report, according to Makkah daily on Saturday.

The ministry said a total of 41,190 operations were carried out in 2018 with a daily average of 113 operations while in the year 2017, as many as 37,694 operations were conducted.

According to the report, Riyadh with 2,255 operations has topped all the other regions in the number of the plastic surgeries carried out in a year.

Qasim came in the second place with 1,094 plastic operations, Najran third with 1,046, Asir fourth with 907 and Makkah fifth with 893 operations.

The report said a total of 11,204 plastic operations were carried out in 2018 against 8,624 in 2017 were conducted at the ministry's hospitals.

It said as many as 17,052 operations were conducted at the private hospitals in 2018 and 18,930 in 2017.

The report said 12,934 operations were conducted in the hospitals of the other government's departments in 2018 and 10,140 in 2017.
