ArabFinance: Foreign and Egyptian passengers traveling to Egypt are required to provide a negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test certificate for COVID-19, the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority announced.

This decision will be effective at all Egypt’s airports starting September 1st and until further notice, the authority added.

The negative PCR test certificate should be issued not more than 48 hours prior to arrival time.

Children younger than six years are exempted from providing the PCR test certificate, the authority noted based on the Ministry of Health and Population’s instructions.

The Arab republic has made the negative PCR test certificate mandatory for foreign travelers only, as announced earlier this month.

Egypt’s infection tally has reached 97,237 and the death toll at 5,243 until press time.
