Egypt - MP Ayman Abu El-Ela, head of the parliamentary commission of the Reform and Development Party and head of the human rights committee in the House of Representatives, submitted a request for an investigation into the spread of unlicensed skin care centres that are not supervised by dermatologists.

He said: “The spread of those centres has become a phenomenon, as these centers do not require obtaining a medical qualification to work in them, but merely obtaining training courses that range from days to months.”

Abu El-Ela continued: “I have some questions for the government regarding the licensing of those skin and hair care centres and their workers.

He wondered: “Does the Ministry of Health monitor these centers, and how many of these centres are there? What is the ministry’s plan to end this phenomenon?”
