AMMAN Draft amendments to the Social Security Corporation (SSC) Law will expand the time employees have to file complaints against their employers for not registering them with the SSC, corporation spokesperson Musa Sbeihi said on Monday.
Employees will now be able to file their complaints up to six months after they have left their employer, according to a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Under current rules, employees have six months from their date of employment to report the above violation, which limited complaints among employees who feared losing their jobs, the SSC said.
The spokesperson pointed out that no less than 14 per cent of the Kingdoms workers are affected by social security evasion, noting that such a violation occurs when an institution neglects to register its employees with the SSC.
