ABU DHABI- The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) held a meeting with the General Sports Authority in Dubai, to discuss developing cooperation as part of its plan to enhance the performance of Abu Dhabi "CAS" Alternative Hearing Centre, and elevate its role in a manner that fits with the position enjoyed by the UAE regionally and globally.

The meeting was headed by Ahmed Al Marzouqi, Executive Director of the Administrative Support Sector of ADJD, Saeed Abdul Ghaffar, Secretary-General of the General Sports Authority, and Abdullah Hassan Mahioh, Executive Director of the UAE Sports Arbitration Centre.

It covered different topics, including a discussion on how to hold seminars and workshops for lawyers and arbitrators with the aim of increasing their awareness of the new sports laws, and spreading the culture of arbitration among all sport-related groups, thus consolidating the culture of resorting to arbitration centres in an attempt to end and settle disputes amicably.

This meeting comes within the framework of implementing a promotion plan, recently launched by Yousef Saeed Al Abri, the Under-Secretary of the Judicial Department, with the aim of introducing the services of Abu Dhabi CAS Alterative Hearing Centre, one of the three CAS centres worldwide, Al-Marzouki explained.

The Abu Dhabi CAS Alternative Hearing Centre is now ready to start implementing its new strategic plan. It has all means of support and logistics needed for holding hearings and all required resources, including specialised and qualified personnel and private rooms equipped with the latest means of communication which enable, parties, experts and witnesses to attend remotely and exchange their documents and statements from anywhere in the world.

However, the success of the campaign relies heavily on the cooperation of ADJD partners from government and media agencies, as well as sport clubs and centres, Al Marzouqi added.
