AMMAN - Eighteen institutions were fined and closed on Monday in various areas of the capital for violating defence orders and lack of commitment to public health and safety measures, Amman Governor Saad Shihab said on Tuesday.

Shihab told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that specialised committees and security agencies inspected shops that resulted in issuing these fines and apprehending owners of shops that still offer argileh.

The governor stressed that inspection campaigns are ongoing to ensure the public’s adherence to defence orders and public health measures.
