Telecom Egypt has announced its collaboration with IBM to adopt the latest automation technologies and create a comprehensive solution for its mobile, landline, and broadband networks.

In a press release on Monday, Telecom Egypt said it will be able, through IBM technological solutions, to modernize its information technology system, reduce operating costs, and reduce the time required to monitor and solve technical problems in the network.

Telecom Egypt will adopt IBM’s Cloud Pak for Watson AIOps solutions, based on RedHat OpenShift technology, and robotic automation (RPA) solutions to support the company’s operations.

In addition, the automation of operations contributes to reducing the time it takes to make a network efficiency report, as information technology solutions help Telecom Egypt engineers to evaluate the operational capacity of networks and service quality at the level of the Republic within only one hour, which previously took no less than 18 hours between collecting data and reviewing it manually, and sending signals to exchanges and booths to identify fault points in the network.

Adel Hamed, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt, said that cooperation with IBM aims to modernize the company’s networks to ensure that users get the best level of communications and information technology services.

He added that cooperation contributes to developing the efficiency of networks, benefiting from the possibilities of automated operation, and reducing the time required to monitor and repair faults, which improves the quality of services provided.

Within the framework of this cooperation, IBM will provide Telecom Egypt with a digital system for tracking performance and affiliate operating systems. The technological solutions will allow Telecom Egypt to identify, analyze and solve complex technical problems and avoid their occurrence in the dynamic operating system, thus enabling the leading telecom company to achieve the expectations of its customers.
