The Energy Ministry seeks to provide a proper investment environment for investors in the mining sector through following up on obstacles and matching laws with international standards, Energy Minister Saleh Kharabsheh said on Tuesday. The minister's remarks came during a meeting for the mining sector partnership council to discuss bylaw for utilising oil, oil shale, coal and strategic metals with the aim of reaching solutions to challenges, according to a ministry statement.

Kharabsheh stressed the importance of the role of modern technology in facilitating the investment process, especially in preparing geological studies on layers of mineral ores and providing interested people with accurate data that would facilitate investors' decision-making to continue investing in strategic minerals. For their part, participants stressed the importance of the meeting in discussing challenges and instilling a collaborative approach to overcome them, as well as helping the private sector engage in meaningful investments in the mining sector, according to the statement.
