Egypt - The volume of Egyptian exports to France increased by 21% year-on-year (YoY) in the first half (H1) of 2021, Minister of Industry and Trade Nevine Gamea announced in a statement.

Egyptian exports to the French market valued at €350 million in H1 2021, compared to €288 million in the year-ago period, Gamea added.

On the other hand, the Egyptian imports from France dropped by 9% YoY to €913 million in H1 2021, versus €5 million in H1 2020, the minister highlighted.

The growth rate in Egyptian exports to France and the decline in imports from the European country have contributed to cutting the trade deficit with France by 21% in H1 2021, the minister said.

For his part, Ahmed Maghawry, Head of the New Egyptian Commercial Representation, said that fertilizers made up €58 million of total Egyptian exports to France, with a growth rate of 3.5%, while Egyptian exports to France of organic chemicals valued at €38 million, with a growth rate of 26%.

Meanwhile, Egyptian exports to France of home appliances valued at €26 million in H1 2021, with a growth rate of 35%, Magahawry added.
