Work on Hollywood-concept residencies is underway as part of a major real estate project.
The Waterbay West, a development initiated by Bin Faqeeh in cooperation with Paramount Residences, is estimated to open in the second quarter of 2019.
Designed to mirror trademark Hollywood glamour, the California-inspired hotel-apartments are situated in Bahrain Bay and consist of three 10-storey towers.
Unveiled
The project was unveiled last night by Bin Faqeeh chairman Faisal Bin Faqeeh alongside Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) chief executive Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa.
Also present at the event were American actor, producer and screenwriter Steven Seagal and Paramount Hotels and Resorts Chairman Ghassan Aridi.
“Paramount is a Hollywood concept so the whole design for the building will be totally different from the other normal buildings,” said Mr Bin Faqeeh.
“Hopefully, this particular idea will be changing the new look of buildings being built.
“We’re trying to open as soon as possible because Dubai still didn’t open any Paramount projects but they’re about ready.
“We’re taking it as a challenge to get the work done as soon as possible, and there is another Paramount project in Riyadh as well that still is not open.”
The towers will host hundreds of apartments, with one featuring 180 apartments and others 200 and 189.
Mr Bin Faqeeh added that ties with international brand Paramount Residences will help extend Bahrain’s position in both the tourism and real-estate sector by fusing Eastern and Western initiatives.
Shaikh Khalid, meanwhile, highlighted the development’s contribution to a growing number of tourism projects.
“The tourism sector is increasing by a double-digit growth which is something that we should all be optimistic about,” said Shaikh Khalid.
“This specific project talks the language of the regional market where we actually do have a shortfall when it comes to the supply of serviced apartments in this category.”
American actor Seagal was the guest of honour as an ode to the project’s deep-rooted American theme.
Awareness
“If there’s anything I can do to help raise the awareness of all the different things you’re doing internationally and culturally, I would work with Shaikh Khalid to do whatever I can do to help Bahrain,” said Mr Seagal.
Also speaking at the event was Mr Aridi, who highlighted efforts to boost the hospitality sector in Bahrain.
“We have a special love for Bahrain and Bin Faqeeh,” he said.
“Paramount Residences reflects the California glamour and celebrity, giving every guest celebrity treatment.
“We wish that the project will benefit Bahrain and the hospitality sector.”
Plans for the serviced apartments have been underway since 2016 while talks with Paramount Residences began in 2017.
