DAMASCUS - Vice-President Najah al-Attar stressed on Tuesday that Syria will not bow as the spirit of resistance is still strong not only in Syria but in the conscience of the Arab people.
During her meeting with a Russian delegation of political analysts, intellectuals and media figures, al-Attar said Syria is paying the price for its pan-Arab stances that support the resistance and oppose the schemes of the imperialist powers in the Middle East.
She added that the terrorism striking Syria, which is funded by Gulf states and embraced by Turkey, came in line of a plot that was clear from the very beginning.
The Vice-President pointed out that terrorism did not suffice the guardians of the destructive plot targeting Syria as they also tended to imposing an economic siege on the Syrian people "that is a crime against humanity and stigma on the international community."
Al-Attar hailed Russia's political and human positions in defense of the nations resisting the West's attempts to exploit the international organizations to transgress against the sovereignty of countries.
She expressed welcome of the Russian delegation and its effort to convey the reality of facts to the world, stressing that "the pens of truth" are being counted on to convey the true image of the events in Syria in the face of the fabrication and falsification campaigns.
Russian Delegation: The Army Is Firm
For his part, writer and editor-in-chief of Zaftra newspaper, Alexander Prokhanov, the Russian delegation's head, said that the war in Syria is not one of machineguns and arms, but one of cultures and views.
Speaking in a statement to the journalists following the meeting, Prokhanov expressed admiration of the Syrian Army members for their "energy, optimism, intelligence and great experience."
He said that the advances currently made by the Syrian Army members in various areas undermines the story which the Western international community tries to promote on the army losing firmness.
He spoke about his visit to the terrorism-stricken Daraya city in Damascus Countryside, saying "it seems as if a third world war passed over there given the practices of the terrorist groups."
Prokhanov noted that what he saw today affirms that the army members are firm, along with their leadership and people, and are determined to clear Syria of the terrorists.
Head of the Russian Anti-Globalization Movement, Alexander Yanov, noted that the delegation will report what is happening on the ground in Syria to the Russian and international public opinion, stressing the Russian people's solidarity with Syria and its people.
Grand Mufti Stresses the Importance of Media in Building Community
Grand Mufti of the Republic Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun stressed the important role of media in building the community and educating people, considering the biased media to be a weapon used by the enemies of Syria to undermine its stances and achieve colonialist countries' interest.
The Grand Mufti reviewed with the Russian delegation headed by the editor of Zafter newspaper, Alexander Brochanov, the situation in Syrian and the disinformation used against it, affirming that Syria will not surrender and will not abandon its national stances.
In turn, the Russian delegation said that this visit to Syria comes in the line of supporting Syria in facing the global conspiracy, affirming that they will transport what happened in Syria to the Russian people to reveal the reality.
