What’s more perfect than tearing into steaks and enjoying some music while you make progress?
British reggae band UB40, Jamaica’s Diana King and pop group No Mercy (of Where Do You Go fame) will perform at the inaugural The Big Grill 2014, a two-day festival that celebrates all things barbecue. To be held on February 27 and 28 at the Emirates Golf Club, The Big Grill will bring together top chefs from the city who will make it their business to serve you their best kebabs, barbecue meats and gourmet burgers.
While King will hit the stage with hits such as L-L-Lies and American trio No Mercy — Marty Cintron, Ariel Hernández and Gabriel Hernández — will perform on the first day of the festival, the second day will see UB40 perform.
But if music is not your thing, you will also find barbecue cook-offs and burger eating competitions on the menu. A children’s entertainment area will also be erected.
“We designed The Big Grill to cater to the growing hunger for great food and great music events that are family friendly,” said organiser Mario Zakhary, CEO Sundance Live.
Tickets for February 27 cost Dh295 (adults) and Dh100 (kids); Dh300 and Dh150 (kids) for Februray 28. A weekend pass is Dh495 and Dh250 (kids) All tickets include unlimited open food from the grills. For details, log on to www.platinumlist.net or www.tickets.virginmegastore.me or call 052-9900112.
