Abu Dhabi, 2nd Nov. 2013 (WAM) -- Shell celebrated its extraordinary partnership with Ferrari attended by officials from Adnoc and Ministry of Energy. Abu Dhabi is currently hosting the high profile Formula One Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Yas Marina Circuit.
Guests were treated to a taste of the F1 experience and a special appearance by Scuderia Ferrari drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa. Speaking at the event, Andrew Vaughan, Shell VP for Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Syria and Country Chairman of Abu Dhabi, said: "Tonight we are celebrating one of our most successful partnerships. We are proud that this partnership and shared passion for performance has contributed to shaping the development of fuel and lubricant technology globally, both on the track but equally as important off the track."According to him, Shell?s partnership with Ferrari is one of the most successful technical partnerships in Formula One history. "Every Ferrari leaving the factory gates in Maranello, Italy, is equipped with advanced technology solutions developed by Shell. During the partnership Ferrari has completed over 500 races, won 12 Formula One Drivers? Titles and 10 Constructors? Crowns.," he stated"Our partnership with Ferrari provides Shell with the ultimate test bed for innovation and Shell scientists ensure that any technological advantage developed for Ferrari is passed directly to the motorist on the road," he added. "It is through partnerships such as this one that Shell continues to demonstrate its commitment to the future of energy and ongoing investments that advance technology and make it available to the industries that rely on transportation to fuel their growth" said Vaughan.
