ABU DHABI: The Sheikha Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation organized its fifth Muntada forum entitled ?Social Media and beyond?" which took place on Monday 26 November at Manarat Al Saadiyat.
The forum hosted a lecture by three renowned international speakers: Co-Creater of Twitter Dom Sagolla, Co-founder of Reddit Alexis Ohanian and bestselling author and marketing consultant Chris Brogan. Dom Sagolla, the Co-creator of Twitter shared the story of Twitter and offered tips on how to best use it. Alexis Ohanian discussed examples of software ideas that succeed and how the internet allows individuals with the opportunity to constantly develop new ideas. Chris Brogan emphasized the need for business to retain the same principals of human relationships in their social media strategies. The audience were very interested in the topic and had engaging questions following the speeches. The forum was attended by Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed Al Nahyan as well as the ambassador of the United States Michael Corbin and other dignified guests. Muntada is a program under the Sheikha Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation, which aims to stimulate creative thinking and new ideas through active discussion, debate and learning. Through year-round events and forums, world-class speakers and leading thinkers are invited to inform and enrich the local community. The Sheikha Salama Bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation works to contribute to the creation of positive futures for the citizens of the United Arab Emirates and the full realization of their potential and aspirations.
