Muscat - Salalah Mills Co said that it has concluded a contract for the purchase of 30,000 metric tonnes (MT) of Russian wheat through the process of global tender, for delivery in the month of September.
In a disclosure to the Muscat Securities Market on Sunday, Ahmed Alawi al Dhahab, chief executive officer of Salalah Mills, said, "Nine companies had submitted their bids and Noble Resources was selected being the best offer."
Dhahab said the shipment will be allocated for export and added that the top management of the company monitors the wheat market closely to choose the best time for purchases.
Salalah Mills owns the largest flour mill in Oman with a production capacity of 1,500MT per day. It imports between 300,000-400,000 tonnes annually.
