Roshn, a leading Saudi real estate developer powered by kingdom's wealth fund PIF (Public Investment Fund), has announced the launch of Warefa, a key residential project in capital Riyadh, featuring 2,000 housing units in addition to other key commercial and lifestyle amenities.

Located on a 1.4 million-sq-m area in the Janadriyah district, east of Riyadh, Warefa will be home to some 13,000 people who will be housed in residential units built as per Salmani architecture.

Roshn's second residential project in the capital, Warefa is being established as an extension of its success in its first projects - Sidra.

It will boast several key commercial and service centres, health and educational facilities, mosques, green spaces, squares and public parks as part of the kingdom's efforts to build vibrant communities that raise the style of living for its residents as per Saudi Vision 2030.The development will also contain 160,000 sq m of public parks and open spaces to enhance the wellbeing of residents.

On the new project, Roshn Group CEO David Grover said: "The success story of Roshn, one of the major projects of the Public Investment Fund, continues, building the future of human societies throughout the kingdom. We are now heading to the east of Riyadh to set up our new community (Warefa), being implemented using the Salmani architecture."

This project is being established on the lines of our recently launched Al Arous community in the port city of Jeddah, he added. Al Arous community is Roshn's second project in Saudi Arabia.

Grover pointed out that in all of Roshn's projects, sustainability is a prominent element - be it the design or construction, and all of it is being done within that framework to create the urban environment with shaded pedestrian paths and bicycle tracks.

"The project also took into account the use of solar energy, and the efficient distribution of air-conditioning units to save energy, in addition to modern sanitary and irrigation fixtures and tools that reduce waste," he stated.

"All of this boosts the role of Roshn communities in supporting the Saudi Green Initiative by raising the percentage of green spaces and improving design quality and implementation efficiency, he added.
