DOHA - New Horizons Qatar have conducted the Professional Project Management (PMP) Certificate Preparations Course between July 30 and August 10. The course was conducted by the internationally recognized project management consultant, Mahmoud Arafa, the Managing Director of Techno Management Co.
The course was followed by a threeday session to review hundreds of questions as a rehearsal and simulation to the PMP Exam. This increases the changes of passing the exam from the first attempt.
The PMP certificate opens the door for the project managers, on all levels and business lines, to join the leaders in their field as professional project managers. The certificate, which is issued by the Project Management Institute, (PMI), is the most prestigious one in this field and grants its holder the international recognition as a professional project manager.
In an interview with Tawfiq Zibdeh, Qatar Country Manager, he stated that New Horizons is one of the first institutes to be recognised by PMI as a Registered Education Provider (REP) in the area and that this is the first course of many to follow to satisfy the growing needs in the area, considering the economical boom in Qatar that involves huge projects along with the need for professional project managers.
The course was attended by key senior decision makers in their own organizations. Talal Abulkarim, head of projects section, Al Jazeera Channel said: "The course was very informative and the instructor was very knowledgeable. I was thrilled to know that this kind of training is available in Qatar and when I attended the training I valued it more after seeing the quality of the training. In my last few years in Qatar, I can see the need for this kind training and I would encourage the key project leaders to attend this course and do their best to follow the PMI process in order to plan execute and close projects (in quality, on time and on-budget).
