Doha - The International Fairs and Promotions Qatar (IFP Qatar Ltd) yesterday announced the winners of the Diyafa 2005 Salon Culinaire that was held on Tuesday at Qatar International Exhibition Center.

Individual competitors representing Doha's best hotels and restaurants, pastry shops competed and displayed their respective culinary excellence in classes comprising bread, works in fat, mezzeh/hors D'oeuvre (four covers), decorated Pate (Paten Coute), Arabian menu, Arabic sweets, artistic pastry and free presentation to a jury headed by renowned French Chef Yves Thuries.

Chef S W Amila Taranga of Mercure Grand Hotel was chosen as the recipient of the most prized Trophy of Honour, whose entry in Free Presentation stood out as the best in overall performance in Salon Culinaire.
