Damascus - The 8th conference of history of Bilad ash-Sham opens on Sunday morning at Rida Said Centre for conferences at Damascus University with the participation of some 80 Arab and foreign researchers. The five-day conference discusses knowledge, which includes various kinds of science, culture, history, sociology and creativity that presented by Bilad ash-Sham to the Arab and Islamic civilization and humanity.

About 80 research papers to be discussed in the conference on knowledge and factors of its progress in Bilad ash-Sham. Member of the organizing and scientific committees Dr. Abd al-Karim Ali, said in a statement to SANA that the conference is held alternately between Damascus and Amman and that the first conference was held in Amman.

He pointed out that a large number of researchers from in the Arab and foreign universities in France, Iran, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Palestine and Syria are participating by their own researches in the conference.
