MUSCAT -- Oman Development Bank (ODB) celebrated the launch of its new logo and held an annual staff party at Shangri La's Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa recently, under the kind auspices of Yahya bin Said al Jabri, Chairman of the bank. The reception was attended by the members of the board of directors, executive management and a large number of ODB staff. The objective of organising this reception was to strengthen ties among the staff and as a gesture of appreciation for their dedicated services. The event was crowned by the launch of the bank's new logo.
Commenting on the new logo, the Chairman said: "The importance of launching the new logo today in your presence reinforces the fact that you are our partners in the success and development of this bank. We believe that without your remarkable efforts we would not have achieved these pleasing results which became a subject of appreciation." He added: "On a technical note, the new logo design for ODB is a modern simplified logo. The letter 'D' has been created as an abstract representing three strong strokes that characterise the motion of escalating to the top and thus indicating development.
It consists of three colours representing the basic sectors financed by the bank. The blue colour refers to the fisheries sector and maritime fishing projects, the golden refers to industrial and services sectors with their various projects. And the green refers to the agricultural sector. The map of the Sultanate in letter 'O' reinforces ODB's objectives towards developing the economic projects in Oman for the diversification of the resources of the national income." With regard to the bank's future vision, the Chairman said: "The next phase is expected to witness aggressive competition and serious challenges in the banking sector especially after the incorporation of new banks.
Nevertheless, I am quite sure that the success realised shell contribute to double your efforts to encounter such challenges. I hope you will continue to work as one team with full enthusiasm and diligence to offer the optimum and quality services to your valued customers."
