RIYADH: The National Company for Sulphur Products (NCSP) recently launched its new production line for sulfuric acid, tripling its annual capacity from 50,000 to 180,000 tons. The NCSP has now become the largest producer of sulfuric acid in the Middle East.
Rawabi Marketing International, an affiliate of the company, has received more bookings from clients of sulfuric acid as a result of growing demand for the product at the national and regional levels, the company said.
The NCSP began operation of its new production line after the success of an experimental operation last February. With the increased capacity, NCSP will be able to supply an additional 130,000 tons of sulfuric acid to meet market requirements.
NCSP's products include sulfuric acid, sulphonic acid, sodium laurel ether sulfate, potassium sulfate, sodium sulfate, hydrochloric acid and metal surface treatment chemical.
"All these chemicals are used by many industries in the Kingdom including those of Saudi Basic Industries Corp. and Saudi Aramco as well as paper, dairy, detergents factories and drinking water and sewage water treatment plants," the company said.
Market analysts said the new production line would make NCSP the largest supplier of sulfuric acid in the Middle East and North Africa.
NCSP extends its services to many companies in the Gulf, Middle East and North Africa through its marketing firm, Rawabi.
The NCSP, which was founded in March 1994, has been supplying quality products, following international standard, the company said, adding that customer satisfaction is its priority.
The company draws support from its sister companies such as German Metal Surface Treatment Chemicals Company, which has a business volume of SR800 million annually.
