MOSCOW, Nov 13 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's ambassador in Moscow, Nasser Hajji Al-Mezein, met on Tuesday with the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Alexy II.

During the meeting, the Patriarch Kuwait's efforts for boosting concepts of religious toleration and dialogue of civilization among nations, ambassador Al-Mezein said.

The fact that churches existed in the State of Kuwaiti since the start of the last century, confirms that deep religious toleration, coexistence among followers of all religions and sects in the country, the ambassador quoted the Patriarch as saying.

Patriarch Alexy II noted that Kuwaiti constituted a model for toleration and openness especially at the present time when persistent efforts are required to enhance the culture of dialogue among civilizations and religions.

He also referred to the strong bilateral relations between Russia and the Gulf state.

The Kuwaiti ambassador, for his part, said his country was keen on fostering the mechanisms of understanding as well as encouraging the values of religious toleration among followers of all heavenly religions to withstand the "devastating thoughts" and create an open-minded human mentality against exaggeration and extremism.
