Because of the continued limitations and concerns around the Covid-19 pandemic, Jeddah’s hotel industry reported its lowest overall performance on record in April, said a report from STR, a global marketplace insights provider for the hospitality sector.

Based on preliminary April data for the month, Jeddah hotels posted a 57 per cent dip in occupancy levels to 21.9 per cent, with average daily rate (ADR) dropping 18.6 per cent to SR544.77 ($144.7) and revenue per available room (RevPAR) declining 65.4 per cent to SR119.33 ($31.7).

The absolute occupancy and RevPAR levels were the lowest for any month in STR’s Jeddah database. The ADR value was the lowest for an April in the market since 2008. Jeddah’s occupancy in March was 25 per cent. - TradeArabia News Service
