Tehran - First Vice-President Es haq Jahangiri sad on Wednesday that Iran has made remarkable progress in medical sciences and is ready to transfer its experience in the fields of hygiene and medical treatment to Oman.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Omani Health Minister Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Obaid al-Saeedi.
He added that Tehran is seeking a strategic ties with Muscat.
Iran is willing to cooperate with Oman in establishing security and stability in the region, the first vice-president said.
Jahangiri said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is interested in collective cooperation to safeguard security in Persian Gulf, the pre-requisite for the regional states progress and prosperity.
Jahangiri said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is keen on enhanced trade ties with the neighboring states including Oman, adding that major steps have been taken in line with the enhancement of bilateral ties.
He said that given the history of ties and numerous commonalities, economic ties are expected to further develop.
President Rouhanis visit to Muscat and Sultan Qaboos trip to Tehran serve as turning points in the two countries relations, Jahangiri said, noting since Tehran-Muscat attitudes about the regional developments are identical, Iran-Oman ties will hopefully develop in various sectors.
The Omani minister, for his part, pointed to his visits to museums and Medical Sciences Academy and said that relics showcased are indicative of Irans ancient culture and civilization.
Hailing Irans scientific achievements, he said that it seems that economic sanctions on Iran created an opportunity for the Iranian nation to tread the path of progress in all fields.
The Omani health minister characterized Tehran-Muscat ties as profound and strong and called for expanding mutual cooperation in the fields of medicine and pharmaceuticals.
He conveyed Omani Kings greetings to President Rouhani and said that the Iranian President enjoys special popularity in the Sultanate.
